People Are Smiling Bigger In Alva

The citizens of Alva and surrounding communities are smiling bigger than ever these days. That's because New Image Dental Care, P.C. has moved into a new facility and expanded its services.

Dr. Jeffrey Pierce has been practicing d dental entistry in Alva for 16 years providing a complete range of dental services, including sedation dentistry allowing patients to receive all their dental treatment in one appointment. His practice has continued to grow with a demand for dental implants and an increasing need for orthodontics for children and teenagers. The newly constructed facility is equipped with five dental operatories with room to grow to nine.

REI, in partnership with The Central National Bank of Alva utilized the SBA 504 loan program to facilitate the expansion. Loan funds were used for construction, purchase of real estate and machinery/equipment.

Congratulations, REI board of directors member, GARY SHERRER, named Secretary of the Environment by Gov. Mary Fallin. Gary is assistant vice president for external relations for Oklahoma State University, division of agricultural sciences and natural resources. He has been serving on the REI board of directors for five years.

· 8% increase in jobs created/retained through business assistance

· 23% increase in clients served/trained through workshops, one-on-one counsel, presentations and technical assistance.

· Homebuyer Assistance: 126 Oklahoma families became proud homeowners in 2010 and nearly all were first-time homebuyers; 23% were minorities.

· Business Financing: 53% were existing businesses; 31% were start-ups and 16% were purchases of an existing business.

Breaking News

On January 31, the White House launched "Startup America," a national campaign to promote high-growth entrepreneurship across the country. "Empowering Entrepreneurship, Reducing Barriers," will include eight events around the country for the Administration to hear directly from small businesses about barriers to entrepreneurship and growth.
