Endurance Training & Muscle Loss

If you're training for an endurance event like a marathon, where you might run 60 miles or more per week, you'll almost always see a decrease in your muscle mass. For most of us who do more moderate amounts of physical activity, there will be minimal, if any, loss in muscle mass – so there's nothing to worry about.

If you are planning on endurance training and you are concerned about losing muscle, it is a good idea to start with 20-30 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise (at 50% to 70% of your maximum heart rate) two to three days per week. From there, increase your aerobic exercise gradually, and include at least two days per week of muscle toning for each major muscle group. While you don't want to bulk your muscles up, keeping them in top condition will boost the muscle's ability to support endurance training. 

Fitness Together and Semi-Private Group Training.

What is a good client for Fitness Together in the Month of March, April, and May? Fitness Together and the staff here has a common goal to help people in and around our community. We love and live the life of fitness and would like to get everyone involved! We have had some success with couple training or small group training, in that regard we would like to extend an opprotunity to everyone to make Fitness and Health a regular part of their lives. We do have the occasional client that would love to join our program but finances do not permit at the time. In that regard the couple and group training would be perfect for these clients. This is just extension of our program that we are willing to offer in order to let more people experience the wonderful healthy and fit world of Fitness Together. We have 2 previous clients Gina Goodion and Sharon Rhoades who were basically the first 2 clients that worked together here at FT. Together they lost 150lbs!!! In as little as 6 months!!! Congratulations to Gina and Sharon!!!
